Random Wednesday
It is time for the Democratic race to be over with. Let’s get on with it people!
I have spent the past two days researching the global food crisis. Thus, I have decided to stop complaining about my Breyer’s ice cream that went from $2.88 to $4.27.
Russ wrote his last post while we were in California last week. Our good friend, Sean, sat a few feet from him while he wrote it. Then Sean got a notification that Russ had posted a new blog and proceeded to comment on said blog. What happened to good old-fashioned conversation?? (j/k guys - I know you had plenty of that too.)
Was anyone else as surprised as I was that the contestants on American Idol sang Shout to the Lord a few weeks back?

I just got a note that you posted, so I thought I’d comment so you wouldn’t feel left out — though we’re not just feet from one another. Anyway, I totally missed the AI with “Shout to the Lord.” I’ve gotta see if I can catch that on YouTube or something.

It is not too surprising to me, because quite a few of the contestants come from a church choir background and the winner of last year’s song writing competition was Scott Krypayne (sp?), a Christian singer/song writer. It is a gutsy choice, compared to a crossover song, but if you can sing it, you can sing it. Furthermore, I heard the local Christian radio station promoting Jason Castro to all their mommy listeners.

I AGREE..Let’s end this thing before ol’ trigger happy gets elected, pushes the button and we find ourselves bombing Iran!

I learned last week that the Democrats are in this situation because several years ago they decided to abandon the normal way of winning primaries. Instead of winner takes all the delegates (like the Republicans), the Democrats decided to give each candidate their portion of the delegates. Now I see why the Democrats have taken so long and McCain won so quickly. Another factor might be Hillary’s age. She knows this is her one and only chance and she doesn’t want to give up on that. I like a competitive spirit. I would enjoy seeing it decided on the floor at the convention. That’s how they did it in the ‘good ole days’. All that being said, I plan to vote Republican because of issues which are close to my heart. Sorry about the economy!

Rebecca, I’m sorry I got off subject but someone named anonymous commented of ending this thing and bombing Iran and my mind started turning. I realize my reponse to that really encompassed other things. Sorry. Gigi

So apparently blogging about politics stirs the pot a bit (although this wasn’t even really a blog about politics). I have heard that the Democrats will likely change their policy on each candidate getting their share of the delegates since it’s resulting in a stalemate of sorts . . . although their way definitely seems like the more fair system to me. (sort of like how a president can be voted in without winning the popular vote seems unfair and frankly undemocratic . . . GWB case in point).

i agree with you 100%. The Republican way may have unified the party but left us without a good candidate. So, how effective is that??? Gigi
