Naughty again…

After a six-month hiatus, local Thai newspapers are abuzz with rumors about Naughty Cat, the groundbreaking band hailing from northern Thailand, coming out of retirement. Carrying on in the tradition of Lanna-style post-rock pre-modern eclectic indie fusion, the band is best known for their laid back aggressive style reminiscent of Driveshaft and Spinal Tap. One fake-fan was recently fake-quoted as saying, “I never knew a cat could be so naughty!” News of their return is sketchy right now, but one thing is for sure, you can not take a cat for a walk.

This is the cover band we put together last year for fun. It’s been a great way to make friends here in Thailand (there are a lot of musicians here). This week we’ll be doing a street show in front of one of the shops near our church. Keep your eyes open for bootleg CDs and Mp3 from the show on ebay (should be a hot item).

  1. I bet you designed that flyer, Russ….very professional looking. Was Nikita your inspiration….or is she a ‘goody- two-pads’ sort of cat? We miss you – you’d be proud of your nephew…he now says ‘oof oof!’ whenever he sees or hears a dog (even on TV!)…well, he actually says ‘oof’ for most animals but we’re working on ‘meow’, ‘quack’ and ‘moo’…Love y’all, Robin

  2. Well you had me going. There for a while,I was thinking, I know that group from somewhere. Then I thought, sounds like a big deal. Then, what a neat cover for the CD. Then, that is a real group isn’t it? Finally, N A U G H T Y C A T…………..Some bells began to ring in my head. Hmmmmmmm, isn’t that Russ’ group! Clarity at last. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE BAND AND THE LEADER OF THE BAND. HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT COME BACK…… :) I know your fan base will be thrilled.
    Love ya, TX Mom
